👩🍳”Kamayan na”, eating by hands no fork and spoon. Fried daing na Bangus, boiled okra and eggplant, spring onion and tomato, bagoong with chilli, and basmati rice. For breakfast, rice porridge (lugaw) topped with tofu and pork loin in umami sauce. Then my sauteed chayote with broccoli, carrot and ground meat, seasoned with mushroom sauce for lunch and dinner too. I love it, very Filipino. That’s all for today’s meal prepping at home.

In addition, pointed cabbage contains a lot of so-called ascorbigen, which is converted into vitamin C during cooking. With only 20 kilocalories per 100 grams, it is also – like all types of cabbage – very low in calories. The reason why we love this type of cabbage here. Especially, my hubby, use add it in “Bulalo”, “Nilagang Karne” (Boiled Meat) or even in “sinigang na buto-buto” (Bones in sour soup). Me I love to make a salad out of it during summertime. Pointed cabbage is related to white cabbage but tastes much better. It owes its name to its shape the pointed cabbage grows pointed at the top. Today I added to glass noodle or Sotanghon mix with Udon noodle Japanese style.

Naples, Napoli, Neapel, Napolitana, I don’t know how you call it is the third largest Municipality in Italy. They said public health conditions in the city were poor. Piazza del Plebiscito (picture above) is the main city square. For me was not that exciting scenery, eventhough I’m that type who has big interest with culture, history and museums what Nations matter. It is a comparison of just like an abandoned place or a dead society. I could not feel what ever excitement or interesting topics or area which derives the so called what nations matter. Maybe was not enough time to get know the place, but I tell you frankly, I don’t have any plan at all to comeback not even for a short period of time. This was only a part what we have seen, there’s a lot more about the place. The square is good used for open-air concerts. It is really huge enough to accommodate concert-goers. With my cousin Gigi and her son, during their one month vacation here in europe.

Here I go again with my diabetic foodie diary. This allows me to note down my food activity, which I prepared for myself- incredibly useful to keep an eye on my food or carbohydrates. Just like my food journal.
This was linner a veggiebowl my favorite healthy food, vegetarian boiled water spinach (kangkong), eggplant and chili with sour soup base seasoned with salt only. Home cooked for me.
Bell peppers and diabetes, a low carb food and contain fiber an excellent addition to my diabetic diet. Sauteed it with red onion and beaten eggs with my whole grain toast for my breaky.
A very good dinner kangkong adobo with lots of garlic and fried tofu. With this I ate it with a little bit of brown rice. For a change. kangkong or water spinach a good source of vitamin, iron and calcium.
Diabetic linner again, boiled banana saba, homemade empanada and my creamy mushroom soup with fresh parsley. Guten Appeit!
Saturday brunch with veggies and squid at home. Cabbage, carrot, onion, tomatoe and squid seasoned with vegetable broth cube. Because few things in life are better than brunch. How about you, do you love brunching at home too?

A very healthy soup out of chicken patties with cabbage and scallions, a vegetable base soup for a diabetic like me. Cabbage is packed with Vitamin C, helps improve digestion, keep your heart healthy, lower blood pressure, excellent source of Vitamin K and could help lower cholesterol levels. It was Sunday and this llunch for me. Smoked Trout and red rice from the Philippines with cucumber and tomatoe. My mind says, eat less rice overall for best blood sugar control! As per specialist, the brown rice highly prescribed for diabetics. Well it is up to you what you believe which is good for you. This red rice was only a try for me how does it taste.
Breaky after seven and half hour Night Duty and that’s five days a week. A huge bowl of soup with seafoods which I love most and vegetables. With shrimps, squid, carrot, broccoli, red bell pepper, cabbage, and beans sprouts spicy but good.
Beacause I also Love green leafy vegetables, here mangold with sardines (Ligo Sardines) the spicy one (Red one) sauteed with ginger and red onion. Huh! was good!
YES! Pizza is allowed, but not offen! Here Pizza Arugula with cheese and sliced tomatoe. Arugula or Rucola is rich with calcium, potassium, Vitamin B, C and K. Longganisa and boiled Okra, tomatoe, “bagoong”, actually sauteed anchovy but spicy a pinoy (short term for Filipino) breaky last Saturday morning: dangerous it’s because of rice which is not good for diabetes and for hypertension so with “bagoong” but taste yummy and good for us Filipinos and of course lutong bahay (home cook) is the best. With Tocino, pagkaing pinoy talaga!
Taking my lunch box for work, leftover spaghetti from my son’s dinner. In Italian— “i PESTI con BASILICO E RUCOLA” in french— “avec BASILIC et ROQUETTE”, topped with Parmesan Cheese. There is nothing wrong with reheating it in the next day. The texture will be slightly different it will very likely have lost some of its bite, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t perfectly edible and it really would be “SHAME” to waste it. Not with me, in some part of the world people don’t have enough to eat!
My son’s viand Boiled Beef (Nilagang Baka) with corn cob and cabbage, family’s old time favorit. I remember my daughter the first time we flew to manila with Singapore airline, the steward asked her what she wants to eat and she said if they have rice with soup, meat and corn cob, that’s what she wants to eat! the steward answered; she had only noodle soup! 😀
My sauteed vegetables crisp healthy and delicious for dinner of three. With mung bean, snow peas, chinese cabbage or pechay, in a very small amount of oil over relatively high heat, with a little bit of sliced pork shoulder. On of my favorit dish at all time. Guten Appetit!
My son’s request of the day, spaghetti with ground meat and zucchini. If zucchini or courgette in season the price is as low as 99 cent per kilo. A summer aquash they call it in america, low in cholesterol and helps maintain a balance of carbohydrates. works great for heart because of fiber. Ihances digestion and improves eye health too. And of course hepls control diabetes.
A classic recipe for steamed mussels with white wine is a quick and easy thing to do with for Saturday dinner for two. Richer in magnesium, iron, iodine, and nitrate. Also contain high levels of vitamins A, B, and C as what studies told brought us. Mussel dish can be paired well with a refreshing salad. These can become a hearty, healthy seafood meal. The psychology of menus. Trying different Restaurants in Vienna as frequent as I can with my bff, daughter and hubby. Vienna has something for every taste when it comes to what’s “In” from coffee hauses 🏘 Bars, Tavern, and Restaurants. Like from a modern European eatery, neighbourhood cafe’ or even a popular seafood restaurant which I love most. The start of my dining journey right this year.
Above here with my bff Dana, having our linner at Okiru Running Sushi 🍣 with tippanyaki buffet. Was great 👍 delicious delight and we had fun, fasting before visiting the place is highly recommend 🤣 because of “cook and eat all you can”!🍽😋✅
It is a bit expensive but it has a huge variation of food 🥘 and where the running Sushi 🍣 everything are fresh and you can also see how they prepared in the middle of the trendmill. Clean and treandy too. Most of all the staff are very accommodating and friendly.

According to the owner, trust is extremely important to them – to maintain a personal relationship with their dealers and check the quality of their fishing 🎣 methods, breeding criteria and hygiene conditions on site. I mean about the seafoods they serve in the restaurant. The Crostian🇭🇷 Chef 👨🍳 of the restaurant will spoil you with the excellent dishes. It is freshly cooked from the kitchen, served by a friendly waiter, a good glass of wine 🍷 and you are happy. 😌 What I Love ❤️ most is a pot of mix mussels in white wine. Here finally! #brunching with my two kids at the Brickmakers Pub & Kitchen in seventh district of Vienna. The home of craft beer 🍻 and authentic American BBQ 🍗 🍖 near us. Brunch is usually served on weekends and holidays. They also have live band and DJ. Every Monday they have its famous Brisket serving with a side dish of your preference like potatoes 🥔 salad 🥗 red slaw, baked beans, corn 🌽 cobs, romaine lettuce, creamy Savoy cabbage with cardamom and croutons, Pilsner Urquell or Gold Fassl beer 🍻 fresh as you can get from their tanks. Sentimental… when they were young they were always with us during christmas and new year time. Remembereing those days……. Now, they ‘re both grown up (adult) actually 25 and 23 years of age not even a call doesn’t take place. But anyway it is good to know that they’re both OK! And can live the life they want.
Diabetic dinner, boiled broccoli and Nappa cabbage with red onion and turkey 🦃 breast no fat at all. I got told that keeping your fat intake in check helps you stay healthy and the low fat approach has been strongly recommended for people with diabetes.
* 1 head of Broccoli
* 1 red Onion
* a small Nappa cabbage
* about 200g turkey 🦃 breast
* some water 💦 or soup 🍲 stock just enough to cook 👨🍳 the vegetables
* salt & broth cube to taste
In a pot, red onion and turkey breast
I added some boiling water 💦 or soup 🍲 stock instead.
Let it boil…
Then add broccoli cook 👨🍳 until half way done…
Add Nappa cabbage, seasoned with some salt and 1 broth cube to taste.
Up here is another version the same procedure but instead of meat I added the leftover fried horsemackerel. I ate with my brown whole corn 🌽 bread 🥖 just like my tonight‘s dinner. Guten Appetit!😋
