🇮🇹FOOD STUFF SHOPPING IN MILAN – LAST DAY IN MILAN 🧳 iTravel

👩‍🍳On the last day of our stay in Milan. We go around frustrated and really don’t wanna go home to work and live home and under this day. Although this is our first travel after the Pandemic also the first travel of this year 2022. We went shopping for some stuff for cooking. And I got my Starbucks cup too. We tried also the Branch of Jollibee in Milan and I tell you frankly, we are not satisfied with all the taste. We are used to European style already. It’s all strange for me. And for my daughter too, being born in Europe and we don’t have Jollibee in Vienna. Anyway, the following day we are leaving Milan and will be back in mundane activities in Vienna. Looking forward to the next travel vlog somewhere in Europe or in an Asian country.

🇦🇹ANOTHER GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE WITH AN EX-COLLEAGUE – CELEBRATED CHINESE NEW YEAR – EAT-OUT DINNER

👩‍🍳 Event gastronomy in Vienna, the culinary attractions in Vienna are diverse. If you are looking for something for everyone who is enthusiastic about a meal with a high entertainment value and event character, Vienna has a lot to offer. But these are small Restaurants in the city that are run by Asian people whom we love to try from time to time. Exempted is the Vegan ice which is run by Austrian and the Krah Krah Restaurant in the First District of Vienna which I tried with my ex-colleague. First Stop, lunch at Krah Krah Restaurant run by Austrian. 1980s Ale pub with the garden serving international food and drink including giant sandwiches. Rabensteig 8 A-1010 Vienna

The next one is one of our favourite Restaurants near Naschmarkt. With authentic Asian Cuisine. Restaurant Chinazentrum Zhong Xin For more than 15 years they have been spoiling guests from all over the world with traditional Chinese food and drinks at the Naschmarkt in 1060 Vienna. A Far Eastern ambience awaits you in our restaurant. “Zhongxin” means centre and their first location from 2002-to 2014 was on Rechte Wienzeile 29, 1040 Vienna. In 2014 they relocated to 1060 Vienna. Linke Wienzeile 44 1060 Vienna

The third one is Soya Noodles their meals are inspired by simple Asian cuisine. Prepare them daily from fresh ingredients and they do not use glutamate. They love coconut, ginger, chilli and Thai basil, so you can find them in most of their meals. Amerlingstraße 19, A-1060 Vienna

The last one is the Veganista Ice Cream. Run by two sisters who have been vegan for over 20 years and have been passionately pursuing a big dream: to produce honest and delicious ice cream. No artificial flavours, colours or powders. Simply the best ice cream with the best ingredients. Amerlingstraße 19, Vienna

🇪🇺🇵🇭WHAT‘S ON THE TABLE

Throwback, some of my home food prepping during the time my cousin Gie and her son was with us. During their Europe vacation.

That was linner, the first meal I prepared for my cousin Gie and her son. Oven trout, salad, Sarma ( stuffed cabbage), and knuckle of pork (Stelze) and because we are Filipinos rice is a must!

Here again brekky with boiled Frankfurter, toast bread, strawberry in sour cream, coffee and tea. The time my cousin Gie and her son took their vacation in Vienna. Of course my doggy Mary and Riyad also on the picture.

My spaghetti requested by Noah, Gie’s son (cousin). Bolognese is the sauce I made for them with grana padano cheese plus salad and sliced apples. Someone requested for coffee and tea too.

Food memories brekky a la Pinoy (Filipino) too heavy never again! Imagine; fried rice, longganisa, fried tuyo, scrambled eggs, sunny side egg, and for dipping vinegar with chili spicy of course plus tea and coffee Jesus Christ! What unhealthy life style never again!

TRAVEL

🇦🇹HALLSTATT, AUSTRIA

The first time we visited Hallstatt, Austria I think sometime in May 2018 with my daughter and followed in June of the same year with a friend from Barcelona and his sister who‘s living in Vienna too. World heritage. From the skywalk, Charnel house, salt mine, romantic lakes- a paradise for culture and nature lovers like us.

Jen‘s, my niece first snow experience with Lizette, hubby’s colleagues daughter. Coming from a tropical country like these two girls how do they feel seeing snow for the first time?

This video down here says it all.⬇️🤣

The ancient salt mine village, with a unique culture, a breath-taking mountain setting and with a lot of nature the world heritage region. The skywalk, Charnel house (Osuary), saltmine and the romantic lakes said to be paradise for nature lovers.

🇪🇺AT WORK

Today it’s holiday, celebrating the assumption of the blessed virgin Mary.  But I’m on duty and take note with normal working hours, eight hours duty. But We had fun at work with my colleagues. Sima brought us today some fruits to share with. She came late at work for one hour and I was telling her up to now she ‘s allowed to come late at work as long as she will bring us something to eat just like today. 😀

Sima’s fruits brought at work today! – iCookiTravel

Fruits such as ripe mango, just like our very own Philippine Mangoes , “yung hinog ang tamis-tamis”! Sa akin yung buto na dalawang piraso, (not in picture). Nectarines, Melon or sugar Melon and Grapes. What a great time to spend breaktime at work with colleagues like her. I’m so fortunate indeed! By the way, Sima is from India, not Austrian but living here in vienna for more than a decade too.

From Internet: “Forget five a day, eat 10 portions of fruit and veg to cut risk of early death.” 😀

FEAST OF IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Tuesday, it’s a holiday! A holiday date with my two kids celebrating the feast of immaculate conception, is a public holiday in Vienna but shops are open.

VEGAN and SAVORY Soup
VEGAN and SAVORY Soup

After church service we had our late lunch in chinese restaurant which is located at Naschmarkt. Vegan and sweet & sour the soup we had.

LUNCH
LUNCH

I love shrimps garlic from this restaurant, cooked fresh and not too much oil. Also the steamed halibut fish with spring onions. While my kids had chicken fillet with vegetables in sweet sour sauce. You could have lunch for two person with two different viand and rice including soup at resonable price for only 13 euros. A very recommendable restaurant at Naschmarkt.

CHRISTMAS MARKET
CHRISTMAS MARKET

After our late lunch we had a walked at christmas market infront of Vienna’s city hall which is so popular specially for the tourists and the Christmas illumination in the Rathauspark. Was a pleasant and enjoyable afternoon for us. Sometimes you need to step outside get some fresh air,…

BAKING AND DESSERT

BROWN BREAD FOR DIABETIC

Today is a public holiday in Austria!
Corpus Christi, is in Austria not only a feast of the Catholic church year, but also a public holiday. This is always celebrated on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday. Linguistically oriented to the holiday of Corpus Christi on the Latin “corpus christi”, and was in the Middle High German language translated VRON (of the Lord) lîcham (abdomen). From this it is already deduced, which is celebrated at Corpus Christi: the bodily presence of Jesus Christ through the sacrament of the Eucharist, following the example of the Last Supper.

Baked Corn Brown Bread

A healty brown bread for dabetic like me. Today my daughter baked a corn brown bread for my merienda. As a snack with a little butter, or just by itself, but I bought this herring fish with garlic in a bottle from IKEA yesterday and I found out it goes with it perfectly. With a sliced red bell pepper and some small radish and a cup of coffee made my Thursday afternoon perfect on this holiday.
