GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE in VIENNA

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³A sort of tourism that is based on visiting food festivals, restaurants and special places in order to taste a special and not so special type of food, to watch the food being produced or to eat food cooked by a famous chef, and today it is quite popular also for me as an individual. My family always loves it if I bring them with me anywhere where I decided to try something. But most of the time hubby and I. I don’t want to sound like an epicure, but when it comes to food my love is there at the highest level sometimes I am delighted in fine food. ANOTHER HIKING DAY with MY DOG MARYπŸΆπŸ•

Another hiking day for the three of us, my niece and daughter with my doggy Mary and her mom Riyana my daughter’s dog.

However, diabetes patients should keep an eye on their blood sugar levels when hiking to avoid fluctuations in blood sugar. Sport is important for diabetes patients. Moderate but regular physical activity improves the performance of the heart, the oxygen supply and lowers the blood sugar level. Fancy exercise the human body is programmed to exercise. No matter what activities you do, whether stool exercise, dancing while sitting, hiking or jogging, it is important that the movement is adapted to your personal ability. I for on I prefer walking, not everyday but I see to it that almost everyday.🀣 The benefits of walking, and exercising in general include- lowering blood glucose levels. Improving the bodyβ€˜s ability to use insulin.

Who individually burdened his body can keep him fit.πŸ’ͺ🏽 Said and done.βœ… This was almost 2hours walked or more back and forth with my doggie 🐢 Mary during the celebration of πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΉAustrian National Holiday. My diabetic life. Take it from me folks!πŸ€—

Feeling like sorry 😐 for myself since July 25, 2019. The day I tried to be strong but it doesn’t work for me.πŸ₯Ί I thought I am, until now I’m still fighting. I should always remind myself:

Slowly but surely my blog helps me out with my struggles. It makes me happy. 😌 Every time I want to post or write something here it eases me.

Today I want to share my August- instant- telegram that partly helped me out with my worries about my job.

Today— Thank you so much ate Nitz, for a very healthy lunch 🍴 from her urban gardening direct to her kitchen πŸ‘ “ampalaya” or bitter melon which is good for diabetic like me.😘 (bitter melon and shrimp 🍀 in coconut πŸ₯₯ milk plus mung bean with bitter melon leaves) Joan (her daughter) cooked “adobo”. YumπŸ˜‹

Last Friday, our Friyay brekky (with daughter) toast with avocado πŸ₯‘ boiled egg πŸ₯š arugula and cherry πŸ’ tomatoes πŸ… yummy 🀀

Salmon head “sinigang” (sour soup) πŸ₯£ for Hubby’s dinner 🍽 I cooked πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ With lots of water spinach (kangkong).

We watched the movie 🍿 πŸŽ₯ “Hello Love Goodbye” relate much with the story occurring in reality drawn from actual situations mostly for Filipinos OFW.

Yummy πŸ˜‹ foodies at Vienna Film πŸŽ₯ Festival 2019 infront of City Hall. The popular summer event the 29th Film Festival, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Vienna State Opera.

Now slow down a bit after a long day outside. But she’s happy to that. 🐢My doggie Mary😍

Again, green leafy jute leaves (saluyot), squash, okra, ampalaya (bitter melon), with tiny shrimp 🍀 seasoned with just salt πŸ§‚ for my linner, watching πŸ”Ž my sugar level today. No❗️to rice🍚

The best bulgogi in town. πŸ‘ Real quick though bell Peppers are crunchy the way I like it. Yum πŸ˜‹ But rice 🍚 is not mine.πŸ™ˆπŸ˜” Thank you Jesus πŸ™ hopefully will get through if not hubby will eat it all.πŸ₯Ί

Lentils with smoked ribs and spinach. I love lentils, it is highly recommended for diabetics. Due to the high fiber content, it enters to the blood slowly also high in protein content.

Boiled asparagus and poached egg πŸ₯š with Hollandaise sauce a diabetic meal.πŸ˜‡

Simple dish, ground meat mix with a little bit of pork belly, taro or “gabi” in Tagalog, chopped tomatoes πŸ… green peas, onion, and garlic. Homemade, home cook πŸ‘©β€πŸ³

The day we tried something new for both of us, hair extension before flying back home for vacation. Unfortunately for me it doesn’t work, the following day I asked my Bff πŸ‘― Dana to remove it for me because I can’t sleep. I got a headache πŸ€• for the first night.πŸ™ˆπŸ€£

Diabetic dinner, boiled broccoli and Nappa cabbage with red onion and turkey πŸ¦ƒ breast no fat at all. I got told that keeping your fat intake in check helps you stay healthy and the low fat approach has been strongly recommended for people with diabetes.

YOU NEED…….

* 1 head of Broccoli

* 1 red Onion

* a small Nappa cabbage

* about 200g turkey πŸ¦ƒ breast

* some water πŸ’¦ or soup 🍲 stock just enough to cook πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³ the vegetables

* salt & broth cube to taste

Mung bean sprouts are germinated by leaving them watered with 4 hours of daytime light and spending the rest of the day in the dark. Mung bean sprouts can be grown under artificial light for 4 hours over the period of a week.
A very simple recipe after a week of meat!

Here is another version of mine more richer in Tofu and togue. Same procedure of course!

* 2 tbsps cooking oil
* 2 pcs tokwa (hard bean curd)
* 2 tbsps garlic, crushed
* 1 pc onion, sliced
* 2 pcs tomatoes, sliced
* 9 cups togue (mung bean sprout) washed and drained
* 2 tbsps Oyster Sauce
*  some ground black pepper
*  some salt
* 2 tsps patis (fish sauce)

Hubby and I, we visited the Sunday flea market at Schwechat. One of the biggest flea market outside Vienna which we love to visit during Sundays on summertime. That have lots of private sellers from families emptying their basements or attics!  Easy to reach, if you will go with car relatively easy parking  and mostly something for everyone. Got up around 6 in the morning we walked from home at 5th District of Vienna to Schwechat took us 2 hours and 19 minutes it was 11,1 km. Good job for me to fight diabetes. Looking forward to do something like this as often as I can, it was fun and a very  healthy idea to boost my eagerness to maintain my sugar level into healthy side.

And we end up to brunching at this corner in Brauhaus Schwechat. Grilled haft chicken landed on the table which is usually served with potatoe or cabbage salad with semmel, an austrian roll. Not in picture and video. Happy Sunday everyone!

FEAST OF IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Tuesday, it’s a holiday! A holiday date with my two kids celebrating the feast of immaculate conception, is a public holiday in Vienna but shops are open.

After church service we had our late lunch in chinese restaurant which is located at Naschmarkt. Vegan and sweet & sour the soup we had.

I love shrimps garlic from this restaurant, cooked fresh and not too much oil. Also the steamed halibut fish with spring onions. While my kids had chicken fillet with vegetables in sweet sour sauce. You could have lunch for two person with two different viand and rice including soup at resonable price for only 13 euros. A very recommendable restaurant at Naschmarkt.

MY DAYS

image_01Starting in the City of Bratislava, city trips for two was a gift from our two kids on our 25th wedding anniversary that was last May 24, of this year. We stayed at Lindner Hotel Gallery Central Bratislava.

Since we love to explore new cities and escape the stresses of the day just for a couple of hours we decided to have our break for two in beautiful Bratislava.

Photo above a view from our Hotel window on the 12th floor. The hotel is really a show, as it is located directly on the park Landscaped roof of the new Central shopping center. The majority of the rooms and the Bar & Lounge offers a fantastic views of the Old Town and Bratislava Castle, the symbol of the city. Centrally located and just a few minutes from the city center and you can admire the many sights of the city and leave us an enchanted by the charm of the eastern metropolis.
image_01On the following day we visited the old city which is not far from our Hotel. Where you can find almost all the embassy of different countries inside. Different restaurants as cultural diversity.

And these was lunch and dinner inside Central which is behind our hotel. You couldn’t ask for more prices are very affordable and quantity as you could see on the picture above. Hubby and I we enjoyed it. Thank you so much to our Kiddos (two Kids), Ronald-Louis and Diana-Grace for this gift. ❀ ❀ ❀
