ABOUT

BREAKFAST TIPS

Peppers it has quite a kick. It tastes crisp and fresh, is versatile and trumps with a lot of nutrients on. Especially one ingredient boasts numerous benefits for the health and ensures moreover, for a slim waist. I always have for breakfast wether cooked or fresh.

image_01Picture above is Red Bell Pepper with bacon, onion, spring onion, garlic and beaten egg for breakfast. Serve with bread but hubby ate it with rice a typical Filipino breakfast eventhough we are here in europe 😛

While down is Green Bell Pepper with ham (Schinken), onion, garlic and beaten egg. Also served with brown bread for the kids of course it’s for breakfast too.

Whether red, orange, yellow or green even in the colors of choice. Added to this are various forms. While peppers are rather thick and round, red pepper have a longer and narrower shape. The different pepper varieties differ from each other in the taste. From mild to hot, the peppers in a variety of shades is healthy and delicious.

We know that pepper has large amounts of potassium, magnesium, zinc and calcium. In addition, the peppers are rich in vitamins, in addition to vitamins A and B, are particularly rich in vitamin C contained in it. Add red chili vitamin C content compared to other colored peppers are especially high. While 100 grams green peppers contain about 140 milligrams of vitamin C, it is 400 milligrams at a red tomato pepper. Thus the pepper is one of the vitamin C-rich foods at all.

Take it away from me Folks 😉

SEAFOODS AND VEGETABLES

SAUTEED BITTER MELON/ GOURD (ampalaya) WITH SHRIMPS AND EGGS

This recipe begins with the assumption that you have properly prepped your ampalaya – see my previous entry…….AMPALAYA CON CARNE!
In my family, nobody loves ampalaya except me. I can have it twice a week, no complain!
and this is one combination which I love most with ampalaya. So easy to prepare and not much work. I remember my late nanay, she loves to cook this for lunch during my high school days. Do you know that after eating this I use to drink lots of cold water and even water tastes sweet!

YOU NEED…….

* 1 bitter melon/gourd (ampalaya)
* 2 pcs. tomatoes
* 1 onion
* 2 cloves garlic
* 100 gshrimps, cleaned peeled
* 2 eggs, beaten
* 1/2 cube knorr
* some vegetable oil

HOW TO…….

1.) Crush, peel and chop the garlic. Roughly chop the onion and tomatoes.

2.) Beat the eggs. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan. Add the onion, garlic, tomatoes and shrimps. Cook
over medium heat, stirring until start to soften. Then add ampalaya. Season with half knorr cube,
salt and pepper, cover and continue cooking until ampalaya is done.

3.) Add beaten egg, stir lightly until the eggs are fully cooked. Serve hot with rice.

TODAY’S MENU THE START OF 2013

It is difficult not to believe that the next year will be better than the old one! And this illusion is not wrong. Future is always good, no matter what happens. It will always give us what we need and what we want in secret. It will always bless us with right gifts. Thus in a deeper sense our belief in the New Year cannot deceive us.
“HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!”

YELLOW BELL PEPPER-BACON-ONION WITH EGG

We are not at home since yesterday, that’s the reason why no updates and no entry!
But I will start where we started the day today. My daughter Diana-Grace prepared our breakfast with mess composed of bell peppers, bacon, onion and beaten eggs. Served with french bread and coffee. As you could see picture above.

HUBBY'S SOUP- SHRIMPS-PECHAY- NOODLES

Then for our lunch, hubby cooked us this soup shrimps soup with egg noodles and pechay. So warm and so good for a cold day like this. My daughter she doesn’t eat shrimps so my hubby cooked extra for her with mussels (tahong)
instead.

MY HOMEMADE TOCINO

This was pork belly which I marinated the night before media noche. Using Mama Sita’s marinating mix for Tocino.

My HOMEMADE TOCINO WITH MIX SALAD

I served it with mix salad, with corn kernels, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, finely chopped garlic and onion. For dressing, yoghurt with finely chopped parsley, chive, salt and pepper.

MY SON'S (RONALD-LOUIS) "TURON" WITH SESAME SEEDS

For dessert our son Ronald-Louis made Turon with sesame seeds. The new year had a good start with us today, everybody take part in the kitchen. So happy that the two kids can cook in a way they can, even a simple thing. 😉
What about you how did the new year started with the whole family?

POULTRY, PURE VEGGIES

BREAD DUMPLING with EGGS!

KIDS BREAKFAST TODAY!

Today it’s Monday again and early in the morning I’m running out of time so hectic schedules. So don’t have a lot of time, supplies like eggs, milk, orange juice, paratha bread (frozen one) and cheese of any art, plus cooking tools? Grab from my freezer and refrigerator…Spruced-up pan fry bread. Grab some ready made paratha bread, cream cheese, eggs (scrabled eggs with philadelphia natural fresh cream cheese), and fresh orange juice to create a quick and energizing meal.

So this was today’s breakfast for my 2 kids. Twenty-first century demands have the modern family on the go, go, go! Parents, students and busy professionals need all the easy meals they can get. A fast-paced life can be tiring. Eggs are versatile, loaded with nutrition and very easy to make. Rich in natural vitamin D, protein, all nine essential amino acids, choline and B12, eggs are a great addition to any healthy diet.

Served with ready made “PARATHA BREAD” (frozen one). Which just heated in a pan without fat. An Indian bread made of whole wheat a flatbread. The Paratha is an important part of a traditional Indian breakfast.

This is plain without anything. I just pan fry without fat gently and turn it over for frying 1-2 minutes again. Until golden brown, and that’s it.

And the scrambled eggs with philadelphia natural fresh cream cheese. For a change and not the usual bacon and cheese.
A level of double cream, heat-treated cream cheese preparation without the addition of conservation materials, it says. The natural one. Try it with yourself!

Quick and convenient does not have to equate to a boatload of carbs and sugar. How many times have you heard, “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”? It’s true; it sets the tone for the whole day. Children need to be able to focus, and they need to be awake. GOOD MORNING VIENNA:-)

WHAT SHOULD WE EAT FOR BRUNCH?

Part elaborate breakfast and part hearty lunch, brunch is a wonderfully informal way to gather family and friends on a weekend morning. We have it today eventhough it’s only Wenesday and not weekend!
Hubs at home and my son too. We got up late while our daughter early in the morning already in her school. Brunch can be tricky—you may find yourself thinking, “Is this breakfast or is this lunch? Might as well eat both!”

From a hearty egg dish with bellpeppers, these easy healthy recipes are sure to please the entire family. I served it with brown bread, but hubs ate it with his rice…lol… Take it from me Folks…wink!
For sure the next eating session today will be dinner time, in between we gonna have coffee and something like biscuit roulade which I have in my mind since I got up today.

I just use 3 bell peppers (yellow, green and red, cored and cut into cubes). One onion of medium sized (peeled and cut into cubes), 6 pcs. beaten eggs, salt and pepper for seasoning and I used Becel Omega 3 vegetable oil. Topped with sliced frankfurter.

Becel Omega-3 vegetable oil is a special composition from sunflower, canola (rape) and linseed oil – which selected carefully for oils. The vegetable oil contains valuable several times insatiated Omega-3 and Omega-6-fatty acids, however no hardened fats. Becel Omega-3 vegetable oil is ideally suitable for a heart-healthy nutrition.
