👩🍳They said that fried rice most likely originated in China as a method of using up leftover rice. It’s been a while since we had any style of fried rice. I am too excited. This was an experiment with a new recipe for fried rice. Added leftover spareribs, garlic and yellow bell pepper which I got from Hofer. I have a lot of different varieties of fried rice on my blog. Most are pure experiments, maybe you can check it out if you’re looking for a recipe.

🇵🇭 EGGPLANT-TOMATO OMELETTE FOR BRUNCH 👩🏻🍳iCook
👩🍳This was my Saturday brunch at home alone. Just what is on hand, eggplant, scallions and tomatoes. I call it omelette. I cooked it quickly over higher heat from the stove and did not fold it. I ate it with dark toast bread which is soft. They said another term for an omelette is a crustless quiche. This omelette is finer, of course, suited to a quick breakfast or brunch. So take it away from my kitchen folks. It is easy, quick and yummy.

🇪🇺🇵🇭WHAT‘S ON THE TABLE
Throwback, some of my home food prepping during the time my cousin Gie and her son was with us. During their Europe vacation.
That was linner, the first meal I prepared for my cousin Gie and her son. Oven trout, salad, Sarma ( stuffed cabbage), and knuckle of pork (Stelze) and because we are Filipinos rice is a must!
Here again brekky with boiled Frankfurter, toast bread, strawberry in sour cream, coffee and tea. The time my cousin Gie and her son took their vacation in Vienna. Of course my doggy Mary and Riyad also on the picture.
My spaghetti requested by Noah, Gie’s son (cousin). Bolognese is the sauce I made for them with grana padano cheese plus salad and sliced apples. Someone requested for coffee and tea too.
Food memories brekky a la Pinoy (Filipino) too heavy never again! Imagine; fried rice, longganisa, fried tuyo, scrambled eggs, sunny side egg, and for dipping vinegar with chili spicy of course plus tea and coffee Jesus Christ! What unhealthy life style never again!
🇵🇭BRUNCH OUT of LEFTOVERS
Brown rice is perfectly safe to eat in moderation they said if you have diabetes. It‘s high in carbs but it’s fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals they said may improve blood sugar control. Talking about leftovers, no leftovers should survive in your fridge after 7 days. This homemade crispy deep fried fish balls was in my freezer before. Typical Filipino food which from time to time I need to have it.

🇵🇭🇦🇹DIABETES LIFE EP3
Dorado or Sea Bream, icooked with tomatoes, onion and tumeric a kind of with soup but it turned out good for hubby’s taste. Ate with my brown rice. Cooked without oil just the natural fat from the fish.
TUMERIC- comes from ginger root, this spice could help treat diabetes, stabilize blood sugar levels according to research.
Sea bream belongs to white fish, which is a good source of iron and calcium and has a higher fat content as you could sea in soup, considered a valuable source of omega 3 fat. Can help to lower blood pressure, again for hypertension.
A soup made of Polenta, Pechay and Turkey breast seasoned with broth powder, salt and pepper. Polenta made from maize flour or corn flour, use in Italian cooking. That was dinner last night and granary roll. Granary roll or in german Grahamweckerl is lower on the glycemic index than white and wholemeal bread. So it is suitable for people who are suffering from type2 diabetes.
A lightly lunch for me as I go on watching my cholesterol, diabetes, and hypertension. Yes you read it right. Here above juicy turkey breast meat and salad without rice. Home cooked in a frying pan and salad dressing is just a mixture of olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. For all we know that turkey meat is an excellent choice for health.
Here veggies- my linner- sauteed green bell pepper, mushrooms, pechay and sesame seed oil. Eating low -carb vegetables is a smart way to fill up when you have type 2 diabetes. This is delicious and healthy too aside from meatless. Take it away from me Folks. Guten appetit!

🇦🇹DIABETES LIFE EP2
Oatmeal most eaten with the cereal. From 19th century one of the most important staple foods and well known for its healing properties. Oatmeal is one of the most filling and healthies breakfast.
Today’s breakfast, oatmeal with sliced apple, wild cranberry, cinnamon, yoghurt, and honey.
Oatmeal has a positive effect on blood sugar levels. Oats slimy the digested food in the intestine, making it thicker and therefore delays the absorption of sugar. This can help you lose weight, but also in diabetes, according to a study, Oatmeal are also suitable for protecting people who are at higher risk for diabetes just like me. The food industry now offers many finished products from oatmeal. However, changes with increasing processing the content of nutrients and fiber. Therefore: If someone wants to enjoy the benefits of oats, then he should prefer a little as possible processed source. Oatmeal are always made from whole grains. Whether oatmeal, oat bran or oats does not make much difference. Oats can be easily integrated into everyday life. As muesli for breakfast, as a soup at lunch, as an intermediate trunk or warm porridge in the evening. Good morning, guten appetit! 🙂

🇦🇹MUG COLLECTOR DAY 6
Hopefully you are enjoying your day Vienna, eventhough it is a rainy day outside. If you feel like spending the rainy days doing something productive, inside at home or office that better way to warm up. Like us here we are just having our brunch.
Brunch with hubby, egg-rice with garlic and tomatoe plus a mug of coffee. Happy rainy Thursday everyone!
Mug is from Starbucks as souvenir from Barcelona last October 2014. My fourth mug from Starbucks direct from Spain. The mug which will be featured on 9th Day was my third mug from starbucks. Having a starbucks mug at home and with our brunch, is not just like seating inside a starbucks branch with coffee task and service and a place to rest for a few minutes.
